About MRS Addiction Treatment

MRS Addiction Treatment was born from a deeply personal loss. After the founder's brother passed away from untreated opioid dependence, one family made a promise: no other family in Monrovia would have to face addiction without a safe place to turn. What began as a single residential home on a tree-lined street near Old Town has grown into a 71-bed treatment center staffed by over 130 dedicated professionals.

Over the past 9 years, more than 6,400 patients have walked through our doors and found the stillness they needed to rebuild. Nestled beneath the mountain backdrop that defines this city, our campus is designed as an urban sanctuary where the noise of daily life fades and the real work of recovery can begin.

Dual diagnosis

Dual Diagnosis

When addiction coexists with depression, anxiety, PTSD, or another mental health condition, treating one without the other leads to incomplete healing. Our dual diagnosis program integrates psychiatric evaluation, medication management, and trauma-informed modalities like Somatic Experiencing and ACT so both conditions are addressed simultaneously.

Stories of Recovery

"When my son entered MRS at 19, I didn't know if I'd ever get him back. The family therapy sessions helped me understand what he was going through, and the staff kept me informed every single week. Four months later, he moved home clean and with a plan. As a parent, I cannot describe the relief of watching your child laugh again without that glazed look in his eyes. MRS gave our family a second chance."

-- Margaret T., Parent

"I'm 24 and I was using prescription stimulants all through college. By the time I graduated, I couldn't function without them. I found MRS online and honestly, what drew me in was how quiet the campus felt when I visited. The morning walks along the trails near the foothills became my favorite part of the day. Motivational enhancement therapy helped me figure out what I actually wanted from life, not just what I was running from. I've been sober 14 months and I'm applying to graduate school."

-- Jason R., Young Adult

"I'm a corporate attorney and I hid my alcohol dependency for years. The thought of anyone at my firm finding out terrified me more than the drinking itself. The team at MRS understood that confidentiality wasn't optional for me. They built a schedule around my obligations, communicated discreetly, and never made me feel judged. The outpatient track let me keep working while getting serious help. I maintained my career, my dignity, and now my sobriety."

-- David L., Working Professional
